Dress like a Brazilian (I)
Whenever people ask me where I'm from, their demeanor changes. Among the many subtle stereotypes thrown my way, one of the most common ones was that I don't "dress like a Brazilian." Which prompted me to ask myself, what is a Brazilian supposed to dress like?

Using websites like Amazon, Aliexpress, and SHEIN, I looked up "Brazilian Clothing" and documented my findings. I also purchased the first result from each website and framed them in custom cardboard frames, utilizing the packaging they came in as a backdrop.

The work comments on how consumerism and algorithms encourage us to flatten and commercialize aspects of other people and cultures' identities.
